It is now for a few years. Stores have been carrying both Blu-Ray and HD DVD disks, manufacturers make both types of drives, and people have talked about both of them.
However, Blu-ray player can not play HD DVD's and not HD DVD players can play Blu-ray discs. At the end of the day, they play both do the same (a high-definition video on an HDTV), so why the controversy? Well, it's a question of who got the first one. Two companiesdeveloped and successfully marketed a working high-definition delivery system, and both went! But as we all know, it can survive only one in the battle of Blu-Ray vs. HD DVD player predictability, it seems Blu-Ray has won the battle.
The major movie rental chains have decided to Blu-ray as their high-definition disc of choice, and electronics retailers are selling Blu-ray player instead of HD DVD players. The battle is over and a winner is decided: Blu-Raywon.
However, this is can be a bit of a dilemma. Thousands of people have already bought an HD DVD player and some movies have already come. Although so many recent films that may not come to this format, it is still alive and a video format, even if it has lost the battle.
Although it might make more sense to choose Blu-Ray, so you more choices in movie selection, have to, if you have a Blu-Ray vs. HD DVD player, the choice is really upto you. The price of HD movies and players has recently started a dive, it can buy a good time and see some great movies with the family in HD!
